Socialite Paris Hilton who was arrested for ‘driving erratically’ last year on 7th September, pleaded not guilty to drunk-driving charges Tuesday in Los Angeles.

A breathalyser test found her blood alcohol level to be 0.08, the minimum required for an arrest in California.

Hotel heiress Hilton was not needed to appear in court because the charges are misdemeanors, and her attorney made an appearance on her behalf.

The judge said the case must go to trial by February 23.

If convicted, Hilton could face six months in jail and a maximum fine of $1,000. The minimum penalty for a first-time offender is a fine, probation and participation in an alcohol rehabilitation programme.

Hilton was arrested by police in September for driving erratically and told officers at the time that she had one drink on an empty stomach and was on her way to get a hamburger at a nearby fast-food restaurant.

Hilton’s Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie is also dealing with DUI charge. Though Nicole was not drunk but she admitted that she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot.

Well this is the first film for ‘The Simple Life’ star in which she gets to play a lead role and has been taking acting classes in Beverly Hills to give her best to this role.

The animal-loving Hilton heiress, who took a vow of celibacy last year has revealed that she sleeps with her pet baby monkey for company.

Paris told Australian’s Cosmopolitan magazine, “I don’t have sex unless I’m in a relationship. I’m old-fashioned when it comes to that. I really am! Yes, I’ve kissed a lot of guys. I like to kiss, but that’s it. I don’t go home with anyone. I sleep with my animals, like my baby monkey, Brigitte Bardot.”

Paris, 25, has a whole bunch of pets including a Chihuahua called Tinkerbell, a kinkajou called Baby Luv, a number of other dogs, a cockatoo and a ferret.

Paris also said that if she was ever to consider placing an advert in a lonely hearts column she would describe herself as shy with a big appetite.

She said, “I’m blonde and tanned and normal-sized! I’m sweet, shy, funny, have a big heart and I’m nice - and I like to eat.”

Party animal Paris Hilton will be no longer associated with two nightclubs called Club Paris. Socialite Hilton has annoyed venue’s owner because she has continuously failed to attend scheduled appearances at the club in Orlando, Florida.

Fred Khalilian, who owns two Florida nightclubs known as Club Paris, said,

She’s created a circus for herself. It’s all about, how has she screwed up now.

Khalilian said,

The troubles started two years ago when Hilton showed up six hours late for the grand opening.

I was in the Swiss Alps skiing, and I got caught at the airport with all the holiday travel so I’ve been trying to travel for the past 24 hours. I’m so sorry I’m late, Hilton said at the time.

However Hilton’s rep Elliot Mintz claimed that neither he nor Hilton has actually spoken to Khalilian.

Mintz said,

I’m certainly disappointed to learn of Fred’s unfortunate comments. We shall address his statements at the appropriate time.

Now Fred should immediately change the name of the clubs. I wonder whose idea was that to name clubs as Club Paris.

This venture would have made her a very rich woman but Hilton discarded the idea of a ‘Paris Hilton blow-up doll.’
