Did he fall - or was he pushed? Questions surround Doherty and the party death
Five days after actor Mark Blanco fell to his death following a confrontation with Pete Doherty, his grief-stricken family are still awaiting answers to some awkward questions.
The 30-year-old Cambridge graduate plunged 30ft from a second-floor balcony after being asked to leave a party attended by the drug-addict rock star. Although police say they do not believe any “third party” was involved, friends insist he would never have committed suicide and find it hard to believe he could have accidentally toppled over a robust safety rail.
As an inquest was opened yesterday, the disturbing questions surrounding his final moments persisted.
Why, for example, did Doherty leave the scene before an ambulance arrived, effectively avoiding his acquaintance as he lay bleeding on the pavement?
Did the altercation between Doherty and Mr Blanco, during which Doherty was “pinned to a wall”, have anything to do with the subsequent tragedy?
